About

Jennifer Snekser recently received her PhD in Integrative Biology and is enjoying the start of  her career in academia at Long Island University (CW Post Campus).  Her current position is Coordinator of Foundations Biology & adjunct professor.  Her focus is on teaching Biology to non-science majors. 

As a graduate student at Lehigh University, Jennifer used multiple fish systems to study a variety of behavioral topics.  Her dissertation work focused on the division of biparental roles in the convict cichlid.  She is also excited about social group behavior and behavioral syndromes.

Jennifer also received an MS at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia with Scott McRobert studying shoaling behavior in zebrafish.  While at St. Joe's, Jennifer was an NSF GK-12 STEM fellow and taught science in Philadelphia city schools with the Wagner Free Institute of Science.

As an undergraduate at Canisius College, Jennifer was also highly involved in science education and enjoyed research on orcas, dolphins and belugas.
